Math 3 Unit 6: Circles and Triangles
You will see the terms "general form" and "standard form" of a circle equation throughout this unit. Due to the inconsistency from textbook to textbook and website to website, many people use the phrases interchangeably. For the purposes of my class:
"Standard Form" will refer to circle equations written as (x – h)² + (y – k)² = r²
"General Form" will refer to circle equations written as ax² + by² + cx + dy + e = 0
"Standard Form" will refer to circle equations written as (x – h)² + (y – k)² = r²
"General Form" will refer to circle equations written as ax² + by² + cx + dy + e = 0
